Youth Passageways (YPW) sees the changing environmental landscape, due to climate change, as one of the most crucial calls to action of our times. We see an essential role for rite of passage processes in meeting these widespread changes affecting all of humanity. As many of us have been increasingly confronted with those changes in real ways, the time feels right to convene a dialogue around how climate change and the growing frequency of climate-related disaster is affecting our work and the communities we serve. With the possibility of convening a working group, future gatherings, and many other things that confront these challenges head-on, the first step, is to see where each of us are at and what we want or need.
So, on the new moon of March 6th, YPW invites you to an open dialogue, we will begin with your climate realities and the ways you may be dealing with/problem solving the effects of climate change and climate based challenges in your communities (and those in general). Depending on where we get, we’ll then see what is possible to address from the combined resources of our community of practice, and what those who feel the call may want to do together moving forward.
