Pacific Quest’s innovative Sustainable Growth™ model continues to pioneer a cutting-edge approach to outdoor therapy. Pacific Quest offers a holistic yet highly clinical approach to treatment, which goes beyond traditional wilderness therapy and teaches sustainable life skills. Students live on an organic farm on the Big Island of Hawaii. Immersed in this natural setting, which features some of the most ecologically diverse land the islands have to offer, students join a culture rich in tradition and a community of family support. Through this experiential environment, Pacific Quest provides an individualized approach, empowering students to make healthy choices for themselves, their family and their community.
Pacific Quest challenges the status quo in outdoor behavioral health by utilizing a neurodevelopmental approach to treatment. This approach, combined with horticultural therapy, integrates evidence-based therapeutic methods, whole-person wellness and organic gardening to sustain a healthy community and motivate change. Students engage in activities which research has shown, increase emotional health and well-being. Through this client-centered treatment model, PQ provides multiple opportunities to address brain development and enhance social, cognitive, and physiological functioning necessary for Sustainable Growth™.
